Steysburg Plots For Sale

Steynsburg is one of the last Karoo Towns you pass through on your way to the North-East heights of places like Molteno,Dordrecht and Barkly East. Steynsburg is a town 65 km's South-West of Burgersdorp and 48 km north of Hofmeyr. It developed around the Dutch Reformed Church established in 1872 and has been administered by a Village Management Board since 1874
If you were looking for an affordable Country home to escape to after many years of City life, Steynsburg would be such a place to consider.
There are all sorts of facilities in place, like a Golf Course, a Country Club, Filling Station, Hospital and a small range of shops. You'll find street after street of fixer-uppers, houses that could be 'sparked up' once more with not very much money.
There's also lots of activities happening through the Year drawing visitors from all over the Country and World, various auctions, Trek 2 Teebus stage race and only 4 hours from the very famous Tiffindell Ski Resort.
Self-guided Game drives are the best way to explore the Reserve, which is home to buffalo, kudu, springbok, gemsbok, zebra, hartebeest, black wildebeest, aardvark, bat-eared fox, porcupine, mongoose and clawless otter, to name a few. Birders can expect to see Verreaux's eagles, fish eagles, blue cranes, secretary birds, steppe buzzards, African hoopoe and greater flamingo, among other species.
Gariep Dam is perfect for watersports, boating and swimming and is an excellent fishing destination - anglers can hope to land largemouth yellowfish, Orange River mudfish, moggel and sharptooth catfish. The highlight of any day at the Reserve is a sunset cruise on the peaceful dam. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking and admiring the wonderful San rock art on offer. Places of interest include the Gariep Dam wall (which is 914m long and 88m high), the Oviston tunnel and the Bethulie Railway Bridge
Steynsburg lies in a great mountain setting, has a friendly sheep-farming community and the kind of clean air. Various B&B and air B&B's available.
Here's a comment from someone who bought a place cheaply and established a B&B in Steynsburg:
"There's so much to do. You never get bored. There's always a screw or something to be put in somewhere.
"And the air really is like champagne. After a life spent in the City, you really appreciate it. It's so amazing to see the stars, and to just breathe.
"Everywhere you turn, the scenery just gets better and better. There's the Gariep Dam nearby, the Stormberg Mountains, Teebus and Koffiebus in the distance."
Most Steynburgers you speak to feel their Town is on the brink of a serious turnaround in fortunes. It's peaceful,
